RASA ‘रस' is a word from the ancient language ‘Sanskrit’ and it means dominant pemotional theme of a work of art. The concept of RASA is fundamental to many forms of Indian arts such as music- vocal and instrumental, theatre, literature and so on. Our Rangmanch initiative, music classes and other artistic endeavors help our students to learn and present these various 'RASA'.
Sarita is Sangeet Visharad from ‘Bharat Gayan Samaj’ Pune, India. She completed a program in music recording technology from New England Art Institute. She is a well known Hindustani Vocal and Harmonium teacher in the New England area since 2003. She actively leads various cultural activities at India Society of Worcester (ISW) and also contributes as a Music teacher and Marathi language teacher for ISW Language and Cultural School in Shrewsbury.
Sarita has produced and performed in many musical programs of New England Marathi Mandal, BMM Convention, India Society of Worcester and many other organizations in New England area. Over the years she has composed and produced many Musical cassettes and CDs in India and the US.
In addition to music and various art forms, Sarita is also very passionate about working with kids and teaching. She has an extensive experience in teaching computer basics and programming to kids as well as adults. She worked as a Senior Computer Lecturer and lab instructor earlier in her career and independently managed and administered the computer department of middle schools in India. She also teaches as a substitute teacher in Shrewsbury Public Schools and other charter schools in the area.
